Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. As a young girl of just five, she moved to Oxfordshire and enrolled at the Dragon School. When she was six years old, Emma was aware she would like to be an actor and for several years, she was a student at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school where she studied performing and singing. As early as age ten, she took part as the lead in several Stagecoach Productions and School Plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the movie version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel began casting in 1999. Emma was discovered as a casting representative by her Oxford teacher of drama. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been picked for these characters. Emma was chosen to play alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's first cinematic appearance was with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. It was also the most successful film during 2001. Opening days and weekends of the sales were record breaking. The film was praised by critics who praised the film, particularly those who were young. The well-known British paper The Daily Telegraph called her performances admirable. Emma's performance was nominated and won five awards later in the film.
