The next film she appeared in was Dil where she shared screen space with Aamir. In the beginning, as a girl growing up in the middle class of Mumbai, she learned to dance. When she was in her early years as she began acting as a young actress, most films she produced did not succeed. In the end, she was successful in Indian filmmaking and rose to the very top. The marriage of her mother led to an interruption from her acting career. She returned later. Recently, she had an important role in the film Gulaab Gang which was about the challenges faced by women in India. Dixit was nominated fifteen times for Filmfare Awards. She won eight of these. Padma Shri was awarded to Dixit, India's fourth highest civil honor. She is known for her charitable work as well.
